ROSSA-60 OilSmart® Alarm System
OILSMART® ALARM PANEL/ELECTRIC JUNCTION BOX
Indoor & outdoor NEMA 4X Enclosure, Heavy Duty Polycarbonate plastic Construction. Larger enclosure: for use as electrical junction box, when hardwiring is required (no piggyback plug assembly). Allows for field wiring of pump and oil smart switch. New All-In-One Optic & Capacitive Sensor. No more troublesome float switches.
SPECIFICATION
Voltage: 120VAC primary, 60 Hz.
Enclosure: Type 4X non-metallic.
External Dimensions: 6”x6”x 4”. Color Gray Material 94V-2 Polycarbonate, IP-56 Rating.
FEATURES
External mounting feet for quick installation to any flat surface.
Test and Silence Buttons, Alarm automatically resets.
Type 4X non- metallic enclosure rated for outdoor use.
15 AMP, 120 VAC GFCI for alarm, second circuit to be sized for pump application. Both circuits supplied and installed by end user. When alarm and pump system are installed on separate circuits the alarm unit will operate even if the pump circuit fails (a true alarm system).

The OilSmart® Alarm system is triggered by a combination of an Optic and a capacitive sensor (Liquid Smart™) Alarm Switch. Alarms are equipped with both visual and audible signals. Any liquid will activate the alarm and indicator lights under the following condition: A high liquid level, the OilSmart® Alarm will differentiate and indicate if oil or water is present.
Panel Installation:
Caution: to maintain the NEMA type 4x watertight feature, make all wiring connections with seal tight cable grips or conduit connectors.
- Determine hole location on panel for liquid-tight or conduit connectors. Drill proper sized holes for liquid-tight.
- Determine mounting location for control panel. Mount panel using mounting feet.
- Run Liquid Smart™ Alarm Switch cable, and 120 VAC cable through liquid tight cable grips or conduit. Make field connections per enclosed schematic.
- Run two separate GFCI (Ground fault circuit interrupter) power line conductors. Wire to terminals per enclosed schematic. It is important that the alarm circuit is independent of the pump to assure that the alarm will activate if pump circuit fails.
- Testing Liquid Smart Switch: Fill small cup supplied, with water or oil. Submerge only the plastic lens (optic sensor) into water or oil, the alarm will activate showing oil present yellow light. Now touch finger to the exposed Stainless Steel Sensor and the white water light will turn on. Place the high water alarm switch at the high liquid level desired, above the normal OFF level of the pump controller.
Operation:
Should the pump fail to lower the sump level and a continued rise activates the “Liquid Smart™ alarm” Switch, the external alarm horn and the high level flashing light will energize, simultaneously energizing the High Water alarm switch indicating water or oil present. A drop in sump level below the “alarm” will de-energize the alarm. The alarm is also equipped with dry contacts indicating high liquid level, oil present, or water present.
Service:
Caution: Before checking electrical connections within the control or attempting to replace any components, turn off all branch circuits supplying power to the main control panel.
The alarm circuit can be tested by momentarily pressing the alarm test button. Once satisfied that the alarm circuit is functioning, press the silence button the alarm will clear and automatically reset.
