These floating oil skimmer systems  require separate flotation cells for their buoyancy, but as such are unsinkable. Hydraulic, Air or Electric Drive.  Can also be hard mounted for industrial jobs.

This operates much like the floating drum skimmer except it has a series of discs that rotate into the oil and then are wiped off on the back side like the drums. To get the same surface area takes a lot of discs and a lot of wiper blades. Somewhat more fragile and does not handle trash well, but it is very reliable. Probably not the best for spills but great for industrial applications. Can be hard mounted and driven electrically which is smooth & steady. We have small units for machine coolant sumps/tanks.
