OILSMART WATER PUMP SWITCH & SENSOR

Every once in awhile a product comes along that does what nothing else does, or does it better than anything before it. This is it! The OilSmart water pump switch & sensor lets you safely pump water only!
This switch energizes a pump, valve, alarm or whatever's wired into it when it detects water, not oil. If it detects oil, it shuts the pump DOWN!
It's deadly effective and economical to use!
OVERVIEW
This sensor is connected to an electric pump, which can be placed in a utility vault, a boat's bilge or any other confined area where there is a need to maintain a dry condition. The sensor can be an integral part of the pump assembly or a stand alone component wired to the pump. The sensor is a
totally solid state device in a water tight enclosure that is easily installed and maintained. The sensor is unique in that it differentiates between oil and water, thereby allowing maximum elimination of water without pumping any oil which may be floating on the surface of the water.
OPERATION
Sensing is accomplished by measuring the dielectric constant of the medium at the sensor. To prevent cycling the pump off and on the sensor has two sense points; one to control the water level for pump turn on and one to control the point to turn the pump off. The separation of these two points are controlled by two independent sensors that connect to a logic circuit which works as follows:
- When the water level reaches the top sensor the OilSmart water pump switch will turn on and pump until the lower sensor is uncovered.
- The OilSmart water pump switch will turn off and stay off until the top sensor is again covered by water.

OILSMART ALARM SYSTEM

The OilSmart alarm system is triggered by a combination of a float switch and an electronic High Water Alarm Switch, alarms are equipped with both visual and audible signals.
Why a float switch and a OilSmart High Water Alarm Switch? The combination will activate the alarm under the following conditions:
- A high liquid level
- The water pump system has malfunctioned
- The alarm will differentiate and indicate if oil or water is present
The OilSmart alarm system is superior to our competition. Their devices use water as the conductor between electrical contacts (continuity devices), and oil contamination will ultimately cause these devices to malfunction. The OilSmart technology is a capacitance device that sends a signal through oil and will not contaminate the switch. The reliable solution to environmental protection.
The Oil Smart Alarm System includes:
Alarm panel with 6ft power cord, standard float switch, high liquid audible alarm with red beacon light, oil present-amber light, water present-white light, Water Smart Alarm Switch with 15ft cord, 1/2" wire grips for alarm panel, cord mounting device, polly band to mount Alarm Switch. Auxiliary alarm contacts for remote device hook-up.
The Oilsmart Alarm System provides continuous, automatic operation without need for a separate oil water separator.
OILSMART ALARM SYSTEM INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
The float switch should be mounted high enough above the water pumps normal operating range in order to indicate a high liquid level. We suggest a minimum of 6 inches.
Mount the High Water Alarm Switch in such a manner that the stainless steel sensor on the bottom of the switch is at the same level as the float switch ball when in the on position (horizontal) item NO. 6.

1. OilSmart Alarm System Electrical Control Panel comes with high liquid audible alarm, red beacon, oil present-amber light, and water present white light. Standard auxiliary alarm contacts are supplied for remote device hook-up.
2. Not supplied standard 120 Volt outlet-double plug.
3. High Water Alarm Switch 12 Volt DC with 15ft wire cord.
4. Float switch 120 Volt AC with 15ft wire cord.
5. OilSmart Switch pre-mounted on 1/3 or 1/2 HP ABS Pump, 120 Volt AC and 10ft cord with Piggyback Plug.
6. Float Switch ON.
7. Float Switch OFF.
