SkimOil’s zero liquid discharge MarineVAP MV8 system is a completely marinized simple device and the logical successor to the SkimOil BilgeVAP that has been used successfully for years to eliminate oily bilge water on inland waters workboats. Our technology is mature and has been well proven, and now the materials and controls are even better. We have a new, compact, and completely automated system for evaporating marine wastewaters simply and safely. Anyone creating marine wastewaters has cradle-to-grave responsibility for that water. MarineVAP MV8 is the grave, the final solution for eliminating marine wastewaters.
Unlike storage tanks that take up a lot of room or complicated treatment systems that can require constant operator involvement and still rely on pumping the water off for costly third-party disposal, the electric-powered MarineVAP MV8, with no emissions, is the “final solution” to managing bilge and gray waters. MarineVAP MV8 safely and automatically turns marine wastewaters to vapor and evaporates it away. Gray water is often the largest waste stream on board modern workboats. MarineVAP MV8 eliminates the problem by eliminating the water. MarineVAP MV8 is a zero liquid discharge (ZLD) system.
MarineVAP MV8 is a compact, closed/sealed unit with a small (2' x 2') footprint and insulated external electric heat coils around a small, vertical heat transfer chamber. Designed with an automatic control system for automated startup, shutdown and operation, the completely self-contained MarineVAP MV8 system incorporates a pump for metering water into the unit on demand, to keep up with the amount of water evaporated. This process is far more efficient than heating a large tank of water and allows for rapid heating adequate to evaporate waste streams safely and quickly. The newly developed proprietary control system has an auto-clean cycle and status monitoring controls to automatically shut down for low water levels or high temperatures. With digital display diagnostics and monitoring, MarineVAP MV8 is a completely automated system capable of running HOA “hands off automatic” and requires very little operator involvement.
MarineVAP MV8 evaporates 8.3 gallons of marine wastewater per hour. Larger sizes are available, as is the SkimOil dual fuel ShoreVAP, which uses LPG or waste oil/diesel to fire the evaporator. SkimOil has been marketing its electric BilgeVAP to the workboat industry for years, successfully evaporating oily bilge water. MarineVAP MV8 will be featured at the SkimOil booth #136 “the no discharge zone” at the International Workboat Show December 2-4, in New Orleans.
