Evaporate Your Managed Water Problems Away! ZERO LIQUID DISCHARGE
The MarineVAP MV8 automatically eliminates 8GPH!
Press Release for Immediate Distribution
With the ever-tightening environmental regulations and strict Environmental Protection Agency enforcement of the Clean Water Act, SkimOil Inc. has introduced MarineVAP MV8 (patent pending), its new onboard system for evaporating marine waste waters, including gray water, oil bilge water—even treated black water.
Effective in 2009, according to the EPA, all non-recreational vessels at least 79 feet long (except fishing vessels) are mandated to have NPDES permits for managing all waste waters generated on board. This comes on top of existing requirements for oily bilge water.
With more “no discharge zones” being designated throughout the inland and coastal waters, the pressure is on boat operators to better manage marine wastewaters. No discharge is safe discharge.
SkimOil’s zero liquid discharge MarineVAP MV8 system is a completely marinized, simple device and the logical successor to the SkimOil BilgeVAP that has been successfully used for years to eliminate oily bilge water on coastal and inland waterways workboats. “Our technology is mature and has been well proven,” said SkimOil president R.J. McWilliams, “and now the materials and controls are even better.”

Unlike storage tanks that take up a lot of room or treatment systems that can be complicated and require constant operator involvement while still relying on pumping the water off for costly third-party disposal, the electric-powered MarineVAP MV8, with no emissions, is the “final solution” to managing bilge and gray waters. MarineVAP MV8 safely and automatically turns waste water to vapor and evaporates it away. Gray water is often the largest waste stream on board modern workboats. MarineVAP MV8 eliminates the problem.

MarineVAP MV8 is a safe, closed/sealed unit with a small footprint and external insulated heat coils encircling a smaller heat transfer chamber. Designed with an automatic control system for automated startup, shutdown and operation, the completely self-contained MarineVAP MV8 system incorporates a pump for metering water into the unit on demand, to keep up with the amount of water evaporated. This process is far more efficient than heating a large tank of water and allows for rapid heating adequate to evaporate waste streams safely and quickly. The proprietary control system includes level controls and automatic shutdown for low level or high temperatures and status monitoring.
MarineVAP MV8 #101 evaporates 8 gallons of waste water per hour. Larger sizes are available, as is the SkimOil ShoreVAP, which uses LPG or waste oil to fire the evaporator.

Bilge water, gray water, treated black water! GONE!

Bilge Water, Gray Water, Treated Black Water "Nothing overboard!" No discharge zone? No problem! ZERO LIQUID DISCHARGE!
GONE - done - end of story!
Skimoil’s® BilgeVAP is a partial answer to the marine waste water management requirements presented by the new EPA enforcement of the Clean Water Act. The BilgeVAP by Skimoil® evaporates away the water portion of oily bilge water, gray water and even treated black water coming off of Marine Sanitation Devices (MSD) allowing workboats, barges and even shore facilities to become no discharge zones.
With this simple, rugged device, all the water or slops are automatically heated to boiling and turned into vapor that is then vented to atmosphere through a blower-assisted stack. Venting is easy. Water vapor is not considered a pollutant. Electric heating gives you no emissions!
