Every once in awhile a product comes along that does what nothing else does, or does it better than anything before it. This is it! The OilSmart™ water pump switch & sensor lets you safely pump water only!
This switch energizes a pump, valve, alarm or whatever’s wired into it
when it detects water, not oil. If it detects oil, it shuts the pump
DOWN! It’s deadly effective and economical to use!
The OilSmart™ Switch is a stand-alone pump controller requiring no expensive electrical panels, will operate any pump up to and including a 1HP. All models include built-in ON and OFF deferential of 2.5" or 6". An industrial grade switch that differentiates between oil and water, with any pump application used to control pumps in elevator, utility, marine and industrial sump applications. Installation will help prevent hydrocarbons from inadvertently being pumped into the environment and oil will not harm or contaminate this capacitive technology. The OilSmart™ Switch can be an integral part of the pump assembly or a stand-alone component wired to the pump or a control valve.

- Solid-state sensing device that differentiates between water and oil.
- Incorporates two level sense points, pump ON, pump OFF.
Sensing is accomplished by measuring the dielectric constant of the medium at the sensor. To prevent cycling the pump off and on the sensor has two sense points; one to control the water level for pump turn on and one to control the point to turn the pump off. The separation of these two points are controlled by two independent sensors that connect to a logic circuit which works as follows:
• When the water level reaches the top sensor the OilSmart™ water pump switch will turn on and pump until the lower sensor is uncovered.
• The OilSmart™ water pump switch will turn off and stay off until the top sensor is again covered by water.
The OilSmart™ switches and alarm systems are used by environmentally conscious companies throughout the world. Major electric utilities have discovered that the best way to protect transformers and electrical equipment in underground vaults and above ground substations is with the OilSmart™ switch. Applications also include hydrocarbon sumps, elevator pits, washdown tanks and manufacturing facilities.

The OilSmart™ Alarm system is triggered by the new all-in-one Liquid Smart Sensor. Alarms are equipped with both visual and audible signals. The new Liquid Smart™ Alarm Sensor will activate the alarm and indicator lights under the following condition: A high liquid level, the OilSmart™ Alarm will differentiate and indicate if oil (Amber Light) or water is present (White Light).
Testing Liquid Smart Switch:
Fill small cup supplied, with water or oil. Submerge only the plastic lens (optic sensor) into water or oil, the alarm will activate showing oil present yellow light. Now touch finger to the exposed Stainless Steel Sensor and the white water light will turn on. Place the high water alarm switch at the highest liquid level desired, above the normal OFF level of the pump controller.
